My Story

Growing up in southern Brazil, Sunday lunch was sacred. Every week, my mom would spend hours in the kitchen — filling the house with the smell of arroz doce, freshly baked cakes, and slow-cooked dishes that somehow tasted like a hug. My grandfather was Uruguayan, my grandmother was from Rio Grande do Sul — a region where churrasco is practically a religion — and food was always, always at the center of everything.

Those Sunday lunches taught me something I didn’t have words for back then: that food is one of the most powerful ways we stay close to the people and places we love. A dish can carry a memory, a smell can bring someone back to life, a recipe passed down through generations holds more history than any book.

I’m not a trained chef. I don’t have a culinary degree or a Michelin star. What I have is a deep, genuine love for Latin cooking — its bold flavors, its warming spices, its ability to turn simple ingredients into something extraordinary. And I have years of cooking, testing, failing, and trying again until I got it right.

Why I Started The Latin Crumb

The Latin Crumb was born out of a simple desire: to share my love for Latin food with people who feel the same way I do. I created this space especially for the Latino community living in the US — people who grew up with these flavors, who miss them, who want to recreate them at home but sometimes don’t know where to start.

I know what it feels like to be far from home and crave a dish that makes you feel like you’re back at your grandmother’s table. That’s exactly what I want to help you recreate — not just the recipe, but the feeling that comes with it.

“Food is the way we stay close to the places and people we love — no matter how far we are.”

Every recipe here is written and tested with you in mind. I want you to feel confident in your kitchen, excited to cook, and proud to share what you’ve made. Whether you grew up eating feijoada in Brazil, arroz con leche in Mexico, or churrasco in Uruguay — there’s a place for you here.

What I believe in

My kitchen philosophy

Real Latin flavors

From Brazil to Mexico, from Uruguay to Colombia — I celebrate the full richness of Latin cuisine, not just one country's version of it.

Accessible ingredients

Every recipe uses ingredients you can find at a regular US supermarket or Latin grocery store. No unnecessary substitutions, no impossible-to-find items.

Clear, honest instructions

I write every recipe as if I'm standing right next to you in the kitchen. No skipped steps, no assumed knowledge — just clear guidance from start to finish.

Let's cook together
